What to expect

The Gladiator School in Rome offers a unique and immersive experience where visitors can learn about the ancient traditions of Roman gladiators. The school provides a hands-on lesson with trainers from the Historic Team of Rome, where participants can learn how to combat with authentic weapons while wearing traditional gladiator attire. The experience includes a tour of the gladiator training museum, where visitors can learn about the lives of gladiators, their training, and the legendary battles they fought in the Colosseum. The school is located on the historic Via Appia Antica, providing an authentic backdrop for the gladiator training. The experience is designed for participants of all ages and offers a comprehensive and immersive experience of life as a warrior in ancient Rome. Visitors can spend a couple of hours learning the art of swordplay, discovering the rich history of the Roman Empire, and getting hands-on with ancient Roman history. The school also offers the opportunity to visit the Historical Museum – Didactic and wear armor to simulate battles with teachers and other participants

Activities: We went to Gladiator School. We participated in theory and visited the museum. Then, we went to the arena, sword in hand, for exercises: obstacle courses, chariot assembly, races, positioning exercises and combat. We finished with the awarding of diplomas

Highlights: It was a very, very beautiful experience! We were transported into the history of Roman gladiators. We loved the exercises and combats, and we were so proud to receive our diplomas at the end! ✨
