Strada Costiera

Road Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy

What to expect

The Strada Costiera, also known as the Coastal Road, is a scenic 10-mile coastline overlooking the Gulf of Trieste along the Adriatic sea and through the rocks of Karst. The road runs from Sistiana to Miramare in Trieste and offers breathtaking views of the rocky Karst Plateau on one side and the clear-blue waters of the Adriatic Sea on the other. The road is perfect for a drive, with many lookouts and stopping places to take in the views and capture unforgettable pictures. The summer is a great time to visit, with many isolated small beaches and stretches to explore, including costa dei Barbari, Canovella de' Zoppoli, i filtri di Aurisina, and Grignano
