The Castello di Miramare is a 19th-century castle located on the Gulf of Trieste, built for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian and his wife, Charlotte of Belgium. The castle's grounds include an extensive cliff and seashore park of 22 hectares, designed by the archduke, featuring numerous tropical species of trees and plants. The park has two distinct zones, one with a romantic style of English gardens and the other with an Italian-style garden and several flower beds. The castle itself has an eclectic style, with original furnishings, ornaments, and objects from the mid-19th century. Visitors can explore the private flats of the princes, the state rooms, and the sumptuous Throne Room. The park also features a small harbor, a sphinx, and several gardens, making it a great place to visit with family and friends
