What to expect

Grotta Gigante, also known as the Giant Cave, is a massive cave located in the Italian side of the Trieste Karst. The cave's central cavern is 107 meters high, 65 meters wide, and 130 meters long, making it one of the largest show caves in the world. Visitors can take a guided tour of the cave, which features stunning stalactites and stalagmites, and learn about its unique geology and history. The cave is open to visitors of all ages, and babies are allowed in the cave in back or front carriers. The temperature inside the cave is a constant 11 degrees Celsius, so visitors are advised to wear a jacket. The cave is also home to a museum and an educational center, which offer insights into the cave's scientific, speleological, and archaeological aspects
