The Parco Tematico della Grande Guerra, located on the Karst hills behind Monfalcone, is a theme park that offers visitors three different itineraries to explore a historical war zone where several battles were fought between June 1915 and May 1917. The park is spread over an area of 4 square kilometers and features excellent facilities and clear routes, making it safe for less-experienced hikers to visit. The itineraries include the Fortification of Height 121, the trench of Height 85, Joffre trench, and the Virgin Cave, which are all part of the Austro-Hungarian defensive system. The park also features a monument dedicated to Enrico Toti, one of the most symbolic Italian heroes of the Great War.
