Grado is a historic seaside town located on a lagoon island along Italy’s north-east Adriatic coast, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. The town has a long history dating back to Roman times and has been a popular tourist destination for over a century, known for its beautiful beaches, mild climate, and therapeutic properties. Grado boasts 10 kilometers of beach facing south, with Hapsburg-style bathing establishments and a 16,000-hectare lagoon dotted with islets. The town offers a range of activities, including cycling, windsurfing, kite surfing, golf, sailing, and trekking, as well as a lively nightlife. Grado is also famous for its spa treatments, with a maritime hospice for children and a wellness center, fitness center, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, and thermal pool. The town's historic center is picturesque, with a lovely harbor and alleys, and its cathedral, the Duomo or Basilica di Sant’Eufemia, is a notable landmark.
