This family's experience:

Activities: We went to the Catacombs of San Gennaro, a large underground funerary complex. "The visit of the catacombs is mandatory guided". We saw the Paleochristian church and the tomb of San Gennaro, several well-preserved frescoes, the tomb of San Agrippino and, of course, a multitude of graves

Highlights: Despite the guide's lack of enthusiasm, there were many people there. We discovered the history of the place, the different burial methods, and the art within the catacombs. "The families the most wealthy possessed very large and richly decorated vaults whereas the simple mortals were just buried several in niches dug in the ground or the walls." ✨
