What to expect

La Mortella is a private garden located in the island of Ischia, Italy. The garden was created by Susana Walton, the wife of composer William Walton, starting in the 1950s. It features a collection of exotic and rare plants, including tropical and Mediterranean species, and offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Forio. The garden is divided into two parts: a lower garden, called The Valley, and an upper garden on The Hill, with various areas linked by walks, paths, ramps, and steps. Visitors can explore the garden's many features, including fountains, ponds, streams, and three tropical greenhouses. The garden also includes a museum dedicated to the life and work of William Walton and a Greek Theatre that hosts concerts and events
