What to expect
Vesuvius is a prominent volcano located in the Campania region of Italy, near the city of Naples. Ercolano is a resort town and a popular starting point for excursions to the ancient ruins of Herculaneum and for the ascent of Vesuvius. Visitors can explore the medieval town, visit the excavations of Herculaneum, and take a bus to the top of Vesuvius for stunning views of the surrounding area. NAPLES with family, Naples with children
Activities: We climbed to the summit of Vesuvius! It was an easy hike, doable with children aged 4/5 and up. We walked for 30/35 minutes on a wide and marked path. We saw the crater and the fumaroles, and the magnificent panorama of the Bay of Naples
Highlights: The children found it very interesting to discover the volcano before visiting Pompeii. And it's much cooler at the top! ✨

Activities: We climbed Mount Vesuvius during our stay in Naples. We first approached it by vehicle, then we either walked or took a shuttle to about 900 meters from the crater. From the top, we had a breathtaking view of the vast and deep crater and a panoramic view of the Bay of Naples
