The Matera Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of the Madonna della Bruna and Sant'Eustachio, is a beautiful Apulian Romanesque-style structure located in the heart of the city of Matera. The cathedral features a stunning rose window with 16 rays, a campanile, and a Latin cross ground plan with three naves. Inside, visitors can admire numerous works of art, including stuccos, frescoes, and sculptures. The cathedral also preserves an ancient stone nativity scene made by Altobello Persio and a 13th-century fresco of Our Lady of Bruna. The exterior of the cathedral is characterized by the use of tuff, a typical material of the Sassi, giving it a rustic and massive appearance
