Forte di Bard

Forte di Bard, also known as Bard Fort, is a fortified complex built in the 19th century by the House of Savoy on a rocky prominence above Bard, a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of northwestern Italy. The fort has been completely restored and now serves as the Museum of the Alps, with additional art exhibitions and galleries. The museum showcases the history of the fort and the region, and offers guided tours. The fort's courtyard is used to host musical and theatrical performances during the summer. The village of Bard, located below the fort, has a medieval quarter with monumental houses, a fountain, and a Roman road. Visitors can also explore the ArcheoParc, which features rock engravings and giant potholes formed by subglacial waters
