Rabin Square

Square Tel Aviv-Yafo, TA, Israel

What to expect

Rabin Square, formerly known as Kings of Israel Square, is a large public plaza in Tel Aviv, Israel. It was renamed Rabin Square after Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated there in 1995. The square has been the site of numerous political rallies, parades, and other public events. A memorial stands on the spot where Rabin was assassinated, and part of the memorial is a small, open legacy wall for Rabin. Near the south end of the square is a memorial sculpture commemorating the Holocaust. The square is surrounded by the Tel Aviv City Hall, Ibn Gabirol Street, Malkhey Yisrael Street, and Hen Boulevard. It is a popular spot for demonstrations, peace rallies, exhibitions, and public gatherings

This family's experience:

Activities: We took Gordon Street all the way to Rabin Square. Rabin Square is named for former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin that was murdered there during a peace rally. It has been the site of many protests over the years and is a major gathering place in Israel. That said, on a normal day it is not too hectic!

Highlights: We enjoyed learning about the history of Rabin Square and seeing the beautiful architecture. It's a major gathering place in Israel, but on a normal day it is not too hectic! ✨
