The Céide Fields is a Neolithic rural landscape that emerges from the peat bog, and is the most extensive Stone Age monument in the world. Visitors can explore the site through a walking tour with guides who bring the site to life, helping them imagine walking in the steps of their ancestors from 5,000 years ago. The site has a visitor and exhibition centre, which is designed around a 4,500-year-old pine tree and features exhibitions on the natural landscape, the human imprint on the landscape, and the geology of the stunning North Mayo coast
