What to expect

Connemara National Park is a 2000-hectare state-owned conservation centre that incorporates mountains, bogs, and grasslands with wonderful wildlife. The park features four of the Twelve Bens range, including the highest peak, Benbaun. Visitors can explore the park's scenic trails, including the Diamond Hill trail, which offers spectacular views from the summit. The park also features ancient settlements, megalithic tombs, and former grazing areas. Families can enjoy picnic facilities, nature trails, and a summer series of walks and illustrated talks. Dogs are allowed in the park but must be kept on leads. The park is home to heritage breeds, such as the Connemara pony, and offers a self-guided tree trail. With its unique habitats and beautiful flora and fauna, Connemara National Park is a great destination for families to explore and connect with nature
