Phoenix Park

The Phoenix Park is one of the largest enclosed public parks in any capital city in Europe, covering 707 hectares. It was originally formed as a royal hunting Park in the 1660s and opened to the public in 1747. A large herd of wild fallow deer still remains to this day. The Park is home to several notable landmarks, including the Phoenix Monument, the Papal Cross, and the Magazine Fort. It also features the Áras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the President of Ireland, as well as the Dublin Zoo and the Victorian People's Flower Gardens. The park offers various recreational activities, such as walking, running, polo, cricket, and hurling. It is a family-friendly destination, with many kid-friendly activities and amenities available.
