The National Museum of Ireland is a national museum institution with a strong emphasis on national and some international archaeology, Irish history, Irish art, culture, and natural history. It has three branches in Dublin, the archaeology and natural history museums adjacent on Kildare Street and Merrion Square, and a newer Decorative Arts and History branch at the former Collins Barracks, and the Country Life museum in County Mayo. The museum features extensive archaeological collections, including the Treasury with outstanding examples of Celtic and Medieval art, such as the famous Ardagh Chalice and the Tara Brooch. The museum also has exhibits on Prehistoric Ireland, Viking Ireland, and Medieval Ireland, as well as a collection of prehistoric gold artefacts and a display of bog bodies from the Iron Age. The museum offers guided tours, workshops, and resources for primary and post-primary schools, and has a kid-friendly activity sheet available for download. However, please note that the second floor of the museum is not wheelchair accessible
