What to expect

Fota Wildlife Park is a 100-acre wildlife park located on Fota Island, near Carrigtwohill, County Cork, Ireland. The park is home to nearly 30 mammal and 50 bird species, including ring-tailed lemurs, wallabies, giraffes, and bison. Some of the animals roam freely with visitors, while larger animals live in paddocks with barriers that are intended to be unobtrusive for visitors to view the animals in a more natural environment. The park features the recently opened Asian Sanctuary with Asian lions, Sumatran tigers, Indian rhino, and other animals. Fota Wildlife Park cares for several different animal species in danger of extinction and has breeding programs to restore populations of some species. The park has a giant giraffe slide, playgrounds, and picnic and rest areas, making it a great place to visit with family
