The Tungabhadra River is a river in India that flows through the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is formed by the confluence of the Tunga and Bhadra rivers at Koodli in Karnataka. The river then flows for about 531 km until it joins the Krishna River at Sangamaleshwaram in Andhra Pradesh. The Tungabhadra River is a perennial river, but its summer flows dwindle to as low as 2.83 to 1.42 cumec. The river is influenced chiefly by the South-West monsoon. Mantralayam, a pilgrim village in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, is located on the banks of the Tungabhadra River and is known for being the site of the samadhi of Raghavendra Tirtha, a saint who lived in the 17th century
