Ólafsvíkurkirkja

Church Snæfellsbær, Vesturland, Iceland

What to expect

Ólafsvíkurkirkja is a church in Snæfellsbær, Iceland. The current church was consecrated in 1967 and replaced an older church that was built in 1893. The older church was itself a replacement for an even earlier church that was built in 1892. The church has a unique history, with the first church in Ólafsvík being built on Snoppunni in 1892 and later moved to its current location. Today, Ólafsvíkurkirkja is a part of the Ólafsvíkurprestakall parish, which includes two churches, one in Ólafsvík and one in Brimsvöllum
