Vestrahorn is a mountain in south-east Iceland, noted for its two distinctive peaks and proximity to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and East Fjords. The area is approximately a ten-minute drive away from Höfn and features a 454-meter-high mountain, an interesting geological site composed of un-stratified plutonic rock, mostly gabbro but with some granophyre. East of the mountain is a strange-shaped outcrop called Brunnhorn that stretches out to sea. The shore features stunning lava dunes, that are constantly being shaped by the natural forces of water and wind. Seals also tend to hang out on the stretch of sand, making it a great spot for photography or quiet contemplation. The area is also home to a black sand beach, where you can get perfect reflections in the wet sand
