Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is a breathtakingly beautiful destination located in Southeast Iceland. It is a must-visit landmark where icebergs break away from an outlet of the vast Vatnajokull glacier and drift gracefully toward the Atlantic Ocean. The lagoon is filled with impressive icebergs that break off from the glacier, some of which tower several stories high, and feature vibrant electric blue and dramatic black streaks of volcanic ash. Visitors can experience the lagoon by joining a guided tour, taking a boat tour across the lagoon, or exploring it on a kayak tour. The nearby Diamond Beach is also a popular spot, where icebergs wash up on the black sands, creating a stunning sight. The lagoon is home to a variety of wildlife, including seals, Arctic Terns, and Skuas, making it a great spot for nature lovers and families. However, visitors are advised to be careful and not jump onto the ice floating in the lagoon, as it can be dangerous

Activities: We went on the Zodiac Boat Tour around the lagoon and got close to the glacier. We also walked the shore and saw the chunks floating and some breaking off as they crashed to each other
Highlights: We loved being so close to these massive structures. Some of them have really unique textures. We loved that our guide slowed down to allow us to take some photos and a closer look at the icebergs ✨
