Jokulsartan is located in the Sveitarfélagið Hornafjörður municipality in southeastern Iceland. The area is known for its stunning natural beauty, with the Vatnajökull National Park and the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon nearby. The lagoon is filled with icebergs from the surrounding Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier and flows into the Atlantic Ocean, leaving chunks of ice on a black sand beach. The town of Höfn is also located in the area, offering a range of amenities and activities, including a public library, football club, museums, and a golf course. The Ósland Conservation Area is another notable attraction, with its lush green landscapes and hiking trails. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including Arctic Terns and seals

Activities: We stopped at the glacial lagoon and watched icebergs melt, the kids even got to throw smaller chunks of ice at the larger bergs to create more 'unusual' sculptures
Highlights: The kids loved picking up heavy glassy chunks to peer inside them and arguing over what they resembled. We all enjoyed watching icebergs melt and guessing which would crack first ✨
