Kvernufoss is a waterfall located in a small canyon near Skógafoss, in the south of Iceland. The waterfall is situated above a deeply recessed black basalt shelf in the Kvernugil canyon and is surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Visitors can walk behind the waterfall and enjoy the view down the Kvernugil canyon. The area is also known for its rainbows, which can be seen on sunny days due to the spray of the waterfall. The waterfall is about 40 meters high and is a great place to visit for those who want to experience the natural beauty of Iceland. It can be reached by walking less than a kilometre from the car park of the Skógar Museum along a path up the canyon
