Godafoss, also known as the 'Waterfall of the Gods', is a stunning 12m tall and 30m wide waterfall located in the Northeast Region of Iceland. The waterfall is situated on the Skjálfandafljót River and is segmented into two main components with smaller segments, possessing an arcing semi-horseshoe shape. The area is rich in history and mythology, with the legend of the waterfall's name being attributed to a Viking leader named Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði, who threw his Pagan statues into the waterfall. The waterfall is easily accessible from both sides of its banks, with short walking paths and paved areas, making it a great spot for families to visit. The surrounding area is also home to other natural wonders, including the Geitafoss waterfall and the Trölladyngja volcano
