Vecsés is a town in the Pest region of Hungary, located near Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. The town has a population of around 20,000 inhabitants and is known for its sauerkraut production, which was introduced by Swabian farmers in the 18th century. Vecsés has a rich history, with the village first mentioned in records in 1318, and it has undergone significant development over the years. The town has a few notable landmarks, including the Queen of the Rosary Church in Maglód and the center of Ecser with its church. Vecsés is also home to several municipalities, including three towns and one large village. The town has a diverse population, with Hungarians making up the majority, followed by Germans, Roma, Slovaks, and Romanians. In terms of religion, the majority of the population identifies as Catholic, followed by Reformed, Evangelical, and other religions.
