What to expect

Saqqaq is a settlement in western Greenland, situated on the south side of the Nuussuaq peninsula in Disko Bay. The area is known for its archaeological finds from the Saqqaq culture, which dates back to between 2500 BC and 800 BC. The settlement has a population of around 130 inhabitants and is a great place to experience traditional Inuit life. Visitors can hike to the top of 'Livets Top' mountain for fantastic views, explore the coast, and see icebergs and the local glacier. The area has good hiking routes to Inuit graves and the remains of old peat houses. Saqqaq is also home to a legendary inhabitant, Hannibal Fencker, who was known for his garden and homemade bitter
