The Valley of the Butterflies, also known as Petaloudes Valley, is a natural park located in the island of Rhodes, Greece. It is a habitat with dense flora, breathtaking natural beauty, and a unique experience for visitors. The valley is home to the Panaxia Quadripunctaria species of butterfly, which gathers there during the summer. A small river, named Pelecanos, flows through the valley, creating a cool and humid environment that attracts the butterflies. Visitors can observe the butterflies resting on trees and rocks during the day, and flying at night. The valley is also home to a natural history museum and pavilions with exhibits, and offers a path of 1300 meters to the canyon, beside the river Pelekanos, ending up at the highest point of the valley at the Monastery of Kalopetra. It is an ideal place for families with children to enjoy the beauties of nature and examine the life cycle of butterflies
