What to expect
Elafonissi is a beautiful island located off the southwestern tip of Crete, about 75 kilometers from the town of Chania. The island is a protected nature reserve and boasts one of the finest sand beaches in the country, with blindingly white sand and turquoise-white lagoon-like waters. The beach is perfect for a family day trip, with shallow and warm water, making it ideal for kids to hone their swimming skills. The island is almost a mile long and has many small coves, sandy beaches, and interesting rock formations to explore. It is home to 110 plant species and is a protected area for the rare Androcymbium rechingeri. Elafonissi is a great place to visit with family and friends, offering a unique and exotic experience
