Préveli Palm Beach

Beach Foinikas, Crete, Greece

What to expect

Preveli Palm Beach, also known as Preveli Beach or Palm Beach, is a stunning stretch of coastline located on the southern coast of the Greek island of Crete. The beach is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, golden sand, and a breathtaking backdrop of towering cliffs and lush vegetation. One of the most striking features of Preveli Palm Beach is its palm grove, which lines the banks of the nearby River Preveli. This unique ecosystem is home to a variety of indigenous plants and wildlife, including over 500 palm trees. The beach itself is divided into two sections, with the eastern half being the more popular and larger of the two. The western side of the beach is more secluded and offers visitors a quieter and more peaceful experience. The area is also rich in history and culture, with nearby attractions including the historic Monastery of Preveli and the traditional Cretan village of Plakias. Visitors can also hike the nearby Kourtaliotiko Gorge. The beach is ideal for snorkeling and spearfishing, and its calm sea surface makes it a great spot for families to enjoy the water
