The National Archaeological Museum in Athens is one of the greatest museums in the world, housing some of the most important artifacts from a variety of archaeological locations around Greece from prehistory to late antiquity. It contains the richest collection of Greek Antiquity artifacts worldwide. The museum has an imposing neo-classical design and features a large collection of sculpture, bronzes, pottery, jewelry, and artifacts from all parts of Greece, ranging in date from the Neolithic Period to the Hellenistic Age. Some of the museum's treasures include the contents of six shaft graves from Mycenae, gold objects, cups, diadems, and a bull's head in silver with gold horns and rosettes. The museum also features a collection of kouros and kore figures, as well as fine vases and sculptural fragments from the pediments of the Temple of Aphaia at Aegina
