The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum houses a vast collection of artifacts from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece, including over 4,250 objects. The museum's collection includes artifacts such as the original caryatids, the relief of Nike Adjusting Her Sandal, and portions of the Parthenon frieze. The museum was built to house every artifact found on the rock and on the surrounding slopes, and its design incorporates seismic technology to protect the artifacts from earthquakes. The museum also features a top-floor gallery set aside for the display of the Elgin Marbles, a collection of ancient Greek sculptures currently housed in the British Museum in London

Activities: We explored the museum, which houses artifacts from the Acropolis. We saw models of the Acropolis construction phases, collections of pottery, statues, and the Parthenon frieze
Highlights: The kids loved the interactive exhibits, especially the toy corner and the laboratory explaining how the statues were painted. The Parthenon frieze was impressive, although a bit eroded ✨
