The St. Severi Kirche is a five-nave Gothic hall church that was the collegiate church of a canon community from the 12th century. It features a stone Madonna, a 15-meter-high baptismal font, and other works of art. The church is a landmark of the city of Erfurt and is located next to the cathedral. It has a unique architectural ensemble and is one of the most important Gothic buildings in Germany. The church houses the bones of St. Severus of Ravenna in a sarcophagus and has a triple-towered east end.
