Ostsee

Sea Glücksburg (Ostsee), Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

What to expect

Glücksburg is a small town located on the south side of the Flensborg Fjord, an inlet of the Baltic Sea, approximately 10 km northeast of Flensburg. The town is home to the Renaissance moated castle of Glücksburg, one of the most important castles in Northern Europe. Visitors can enjoy beautiful beaches, the Fördeland-Therme adventure pool, and an excellent surfing and sailing area. The town is surrounded by one of the largest forest areas in Schleswig-Holstein, offering numerous hiking trails, a forest museum, and the coastal hiking trail Fördesteig. A 50-minute trip with the excursion boat 'MS Viking' across the fjord to Flensburg is also a highlight

This family's experience:

Activities: We enjoyed the Ostsee (Baltic Sea). The water is warmer, the waves are not as strong, and the sea is always there

Highlights: The Ostsee is great for family vacations. The water is often warmer than the North Sea, and the waves are not as wild ✨
