What to expect
Elend is a small village in the Upper Harz region, located in the town of Oberharz am Brocken. It is known for its unspoiled nature, quiet and relaxed atmosphere, and proximity to the legendary Mount Brocken. The village has a landmark, the smallest wooden church in Germany, which is a timber-frame building with a small size of 5 by 11 meters and 80 seats. Elend also offers a lido with a swimming pool, water slide, children's pool, and beach volleyball court, making it a great destination for families. The village is surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings and has a well-maintained network of hiking trails, including the long-distance walking trail Harzer-Hexen-Stieg. In winter, Elend welcomes visitors with a well-groomed network of cross-country ski trails in a beautiful snowy landscape
