Wildpark Bad Marienberg

Zoo Bad Marienberg (Westerwald), Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

What to expect

Wildpark Bad Marienberg is a wildlife park set in forests and meadows where visitors walk along a circular path to view enclosures containing wild boars, deer, wisents, llamas, and raccoons. The route is wheelchair-accessible and takes people through the entire grounds at a comfortable pace. The park serves as a place where visitors can watch animals up close and learn about their natural behaviors in a setting designed to mirror their habitats. This approach helps people develop a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the ecosystems they depend on. Adjacent to the grounds is a falconry center that presents flight demonstrations with birds of prey from May through October. The park also features a petting zoo, a playground, and several restaurants. The entrance is free, and food for the animals is available from vending machines positioned along the paths. Visitors can bring their own supplies or purchase them on site for a complete experience

This family's experience:

Activities: After climbing at Kletterwald, we visited the Wildpark Bad Marienberg. We bought food boxes and walked the circular path past enclosures with animals like alpacas, wild boars, and red deer. The kids loved the baby goats so much that we almost adopted one to encourage them to continue walking

Highlights: We enjoyed this beautiful walk, and our kids loved seeing the animals, especially the baby goats. It was a lovely, relaxing experience for all of us, and there was also the Hedwigsturm to climb and see the views ✨
