Blankenheim is a municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located in the Eifel region. The municipality has around 8,400 inhabitants and consists of 17 districts. The main town, Blankenheim, is a state-recognized recreation area with a historic town center and several notable sights, including the Ahr spring, which is housed in a cellar vault of a half-timbered house from 1726. The Eifel Museum is also located nearby. Blankenheim is situated about 27 kilometers southwest of the district town of Euskirchen, on the western edge of the Ahr mountains.
