What to expect

The Nationalpark Jasmund is a beautiful national park located on the Halbinsel Jasmund in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is the smallest national park in Germany, covering an area of approximately 3,070 hectares. The park features stunning landscapes, including the largest beech forests on the Baltic Sea coast, which stretch over hills and valleys, surrounding bright moors and springs. The famous white chalk coast, where shady green forests meet the blue sea, is also a notable feature of the park. The UNESCO has recognized the ancient beech forests in the heart of the national park as a World Heritage Site. The park's unique Kreidefelsen, or chalk cliffs, are a popular attraction, with the 118-meter-high Königsstuhl being a highlight. The cliffs are constantly eroded by the sea, revealing fossils of sea urchins, sponges, and oysters. The park offers various activities, including ranger-led walks and events, making it a great destination for families to explore and learn about nature

Moor on the Baltic Sea: Insider tips from Bad Doberan via Rügen to Usedom
This family's experience:

Activities: We went for a walk in the National Park Jasmund, mostly known for its chalk cliffs. We wanted to see the small moors as well

Highlights: We loved the beech forests and the Hochuferweg from Sassnitz to Lohme. The article says: "Der Hochuferweg von Sassnitz über den Kaiserstuhl bis nach Lohme ist ein einziger Traum." (The cliff path from Sassnitz via the Kaiserstuhl to Lohme is a dream) ✨
