Heiligendamm Beach

Beach Bad Doberan, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

What to expect

Heiligendamm is a German seaside resort known as the 'White Town by the Sea' due to its classicist white buildings lining the beach promenade. It is the oldest seaside spa in continental Europe and has been a popular destination for the nobility and high society since its founding in 1793. The resort offers a tranquil setting with historic elegance, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway or a romantic vacation. Visitors can enjoy a walk along the shore, a stroll across the sea bridge, or a bike ride to the nearby town of Bad Doberan. The area is also home to a narrow-gauge steam railway, known as the 'Molli', which links Heiligendamm with Kühlungsborn and Bad Doberan. Families can enjoy the beautiful beaches, the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, and various activities such as golfing at one of the most beautiful golf courses in Germany, located just 7 km away

This family's experience:

Activities: We explored the area by bike, heading to the sandy beach near the Jemnitz lock. The kids splashed between the groynes in the Baltic Sea, while Anna and I enjoyed the sun. "The beach is great!"

Highlights: The kids loved splashing in the sea. "For families who can stay longer than an hour or two by the water and don't mind being only an arm's length from the neighbor's deckchair, Heiligendamm is highly recommended." ✨
