The Degodehaus is a historic half-timbered house located in the center of Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. Built in 1502, it is the last surviving representative example from before the devastating great fire of 1676. The house features elegant fachwerk architecture and interior baroque ceiling paintings dating to 1645, which allegorically depict the four known continents—Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. Today, the Degodehaus houses a shoe store and a restaurant, and its exterior and interior, including the baroque ceiling, can be viewed freely. The building is also notable for being the birthplace of landscape painter Georg Wilhelm Degode in 1862
