The Idaturm is a 28-meter-high observation tower located in the Weserbergland Nature Park, near the city of Bückeburg in Lower Saxony, Germany. It offers a great hiking experience for the whole family, with a loop trail that covers approximately 3 miles and has an elevation gain of 423 feet. The trail is considered easy and takes about 1-1.5 hours to complete. The Idaturm is one of the most popular hiking destinations around Bückeburg and provides stunning views over the Weser Uplands. The tower was built in 1847 by Fürst Georg Wilhelm to provide work and bread for his farmers during a time of hunger. The Idaturm is named after his wife, Fürstin Ida, and is the highest point in Bückeburg. Visitors can climb the 128 steps to the top of the tower for a panoramic view of the surrounding area, which includes the Weser Uplands and the Steinhuder Meer.
