The Braunschweiger Schloss is a former residence of the Dukes of Brunswick, located in the city of Braunschweig. The classical three-wing complex was built between 1833 and 1841 by Duke Wilhelm, based on plans by Carl Theodor Ottmer. After being damaged in 1945 and demolished in 1960, the castle was rebuilt between 2005 and 2007. Today, it serves as the seat of the Schlossarkaden, the Schlossmuseum, and the city library. The castle's history dates back to 1717, when the first building was constructed on the site of a former medieval economic and city court. Over the years, the castle underwent several transformations, including the addition of a chapel and the construction of the outer north wing. The castle's architecture is characterized by its classical style, with a mix of Fachwerk and Hilssandstein facades
