The Tierpark Sababurg is a wildlife park located in the Reinhardswald forest in northern Hesse, Germany. With an area of around 130 hectares, it is one of the largest and oldest wildlife parks in Europe. The park features long oak alleys and is home to around 80 species of animals, including some that are endangered. The park's goal is to provide a natural and species-appropriate environment for the animals, with large enclosures and a focus on conservation. Visitors can explore the park and see the animals in their naturalistic habitats. The park is also home to the Sababurg castle, which dates back to the 14th century and offers stunning views of the surrounding forest

Activities: We visited the Tierpark Sababurg, exploring the ‘Kinderzoo’ area with the well-made enclosures and the petting zoo with the African dwarf goats. We walked through the aviary with the parakeets flying close to our faces. We also saw Kattas, penguins, and meerkats. We also visited the historical part of the zoo
Highlights: We had some really nice encounters, especially in the 'Kinderzoo'. "We were able to get very close to the animals". We were able to feed the dwarf goats and our daughter, Franka, even dared to pet them. The Saba-Burger was amazing! ✨
