What to expect

The Vonderau Museum is a museum located in Fulda, Germany, showcasing the region's cultural history, natural history, and art. The museum has three main departments: Kulturgeschichte, Naturkunde, and Malerei und Skulptur, as well as a planetarium. The Kulturgeschichte department features exhibits on the prehistory and early history of the Fulda region, the history of the city of Fulda, and the development of the city from the Middle Ages to the present day. The Naturkunde department showcases the geological history of eastern Hesse and features dioramas of typical ecosystems in the region. The Malerei und Skulptur department presents works of art by regional artists from the Middle Ages to the present day. The planetarium offers regular shows and is equipped with Fulldome video projection technology. With almost 4000 m² of exhibition space, the museum is the largest between Kassel and Frankfurt and offers guided tours, museum talks, workshops, and planetarium shows for visitors of all ages, from kindergarten to seniors
