Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomäus

Cathedral Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany

What to expect

The Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomäus, also known as the Frankfurt Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic Gothic church located in the heart of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew and is the largest religious building in the city. The church has a long history dating back to the 7th century and has been an important symbol of national unity, especially in the 19th century. The present church is the third church on the same site and features a Gothic nave and aisles, as well as a representative west tower. Visitors can climb the tower for a magnificent panoramic view. The cathedral also houses a museum in the medieval cloister, which showcases exhibits from the cathedral's treasury and spectacular finds from the grave of a girl from the late Merovingian period
