What to expect
The Zoo am Meer in Bremerhaven is a theme zoo specializing in water-dwelling and Nordic animal species. It features a begehbare Felsenlandschaft, or walkable rock landscape, with large enclosures and water basins that allow visitors to observe the animals up close. The zoo is home to around 280 animals from 47 species, including Eisbären, Basstölpel, Robben, and Humboldtpinguine. There is also a Nordseeaquarium with nine tanks showcasing various underwater worlds of the North Sea. The zoo has a large playground with a pirate ship and a petting zoo, making it a great destination for families with children. An observation platform offers stunning views of the Wesermündung and the surrounding area
