What to expect
Volkspark Friedrichshain is Berlin's oldest public park, offering a variety of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages. The park features small lakes, mountains, and the beautiful Fairy Tale Fountain, which contains 106 stone sculptures representing characters from traditional German fairy tales. Visitors can also explore the park's many monuments, sculptures, and works of art, including a bronze bust of Frederick the Great and a memorial to the German March Revolution of 1848. The park has two small artificial mountains, Mont Klamott and Kleiner Bunkerberg, which offer a spectacular view of Berlin's city centre. In the summer, the park hosts an open-air cinema and various recreational activities, such as sports grounds, playgrounds, and a barbecue area. Activities: We visited Volkspark Friedrichshain. We enjoyed the Märchenbrunnen with sculptures based on the Grimm's fairy tales. We also went to the large play area with a playground near the foot of the hill. We walked to the water run near the open-air cinema
