Siegessäule

Monument Berlin, Berlin, Germany

What to expect

The Siegessäule, or Victory Column, is a monument in the heart of Tiergarten Park, offering panoramic views of the city. The column was designed by Heinrich Strack and built to celebrate Prussia's victory in the Second Schleswig War. It features a bronze sculpture of Victoria, the goddess of victory, and a spiral staircase leading to a viewing platform. The column is 67 meters tall and has a rich history, having been moved to its current location in 1938. Visitors can climb the staircase to enjoy the views, but be aware that it requires a reasonable level of fitness. The column is also known as the 'Goldelse' by locals, and it's a great spot to enjoy the city with all your senses
