The Spree is a river in Germany and the Czech Republic, approximately 400 kilometers long, and is the main tributary of the Havel River. It rises in the Lusatian Highlands and flows north through Bautzen and Spremberg, then forms the Spree Forest, a large inland delta and biosphere reserve. The river then flows through Lake Schwielochsee before entering Berlin. In Berlin, the Spree passes through the city centre, where it is joined by its tributary, the River Dahme, and flows by several notable landmarks, including Berlin Cathedral, the Reichstag, and the Schloss Charlottenburg. The Spree is a popular destination for families, with opportunities for boat tours and visits to the Spreewald, a unique and protected natural area
