What to expect
Müggelsee is Berlin's largest lake, offering various activities such as bathing, paddling, and hiking. The lake has a maximum depth of 8 meters and is 4.3 kilometers long and 2.6 kilometers wide. There are several official bathing areas along the shore, including the lake resort Friedrichshagen and the lido Müggelsee. Visitors can also explore the museum in the waterworks on the northern shore, which showcases the original machine hall with piston steam engines. The surrounding area features numerous restaurants, cafés, and boathouses, as well as the fishing village of Rahnsdorf with its idyllic cobbled streets and old chestnut trees. The lake is also a popular spot for water sports, including sailing and surfing, and offers stunning views of the surrounding nature and Berlin skyline
