The Zwieseler Unterwelten, also known as the Unterirdische Gänge Zwiesel, is a network of underground passages and cellars in Zwiesel, Germany. The passages were likely started in the late Middle Ages and expanded over the centuries, serving as escape tunnels and hiding places during times of war and danger. The system is about 3 km long and features air shafts, ledges, and gneiss slabs to prevent incendiary devices from being thrown in. Today, a small part of the cellar system is open to the public, offering guided tours that showcase the history and significance of the underground passages. The tours are suitable for children aged 5 and above, and the passages are equipped with electric lighting. However, the passages are not wheelchair accessible
